“It’s always been my dream to create a Vogue Ball since I was first introduced to the vogue dance style in the ‘80s. To see the growth and passion of the Ball reach so many people is truly amazing and beyond my expectations!”
Darren Suarez, 2019
The House of Suarez Vogue Ball is an annual riot of fierce glamour, incredible dance moves and spectacularly flamboyant costumes. Trophies are awarded for the best Fantasy, Solo, Lip Sync, Sex Siren, Choreography, and overall Best House.
Darren Suarez, from Liverpool, formed The House of Suarez in 2006. Trained in classical and contemporary dance, he incorporated different dance styles to create ‘Vogueography’, bringing together uniquely different elements of the vogue style.
The first Vogue Ball event, ‘Liverpool is Burning’, was specially developed for Liverpool’s European Capital of Culture year, 2008. The Ball has since grown from strength to strength. In 2014 Darren was given the official ‘Legendary’ title by the international vogue dance community for exceptional talent in and promotion of the art form.
House of Suarez also runs an Academy for emerging artists and hosts regular events which showcase the young dancers alongside regional dance schools, professional voguers and international dancers.
