
Hop along to your local museum for a free dose of Easter fun! We have a fantastic selection of events, activities and new exhibitions there’s something for everyone to be ‘egg-cited’ about at National Museums Liverpool this Easter.
Wesołych Świąt, that’s Happy Easter in Polish. Find out this and more Polish Easter event at World Museum (24 March). Mersey Polonia will be on hand to make crafts and talk about how Easter is celebrated in Poland.
Also at World Museum, celebrate the Chinese lantern festival. Come along and discover the history and skill of making beautiful lanterns and create your own to take home (31 March and 1 April).
Sniff out some family fun in our special Easter Rummage, come along to test your skills as a Customs Officer (30 March – 2 April) at Seized! The Border and Customs Uncovered, within the Merseyside Maritime Museum. The Easter Bunny has dropped by and left some treats for visitors; search the ship and look for the chocolate contraband.
Head upstairs to the Merseyside Maritime Museum to make an Easter bunny puppet or an basket, ready to collect those Easter treats (27 & 28 March).
Get crafty at the International Slavery Museum in our hands on activity, Faces of Change (24, 31 March, 7, 8 & 14 April). Make and take home your very own brilliant badge to pay tribute to freedom fighters of the past, in this family craft workshop.
Become an archaeologist over at the Museum of Liverpool (27-29 March, 3-5 April). Join in with interactive activities where you can see and feel genuine Stone Age flint tools, Roman household pottery and modern metal-detector finds from the local area. You can also get your hands dirty on a recreated dig site or make something crafty to take home.
Also at Museum of Liverpool Travellers Through Time are on hand to help visitors use genuine ancient techniques to create beautiful jewellery (28 & 29 March) to take home.
Make a special Easter card for someone special or an Easter basket for all your chocolate goodies at the Walker Art Gallery (23-30 March).
Over in the picturesque village of Port Sunlight is the Lady Lever Art Gallery. One of the UK’s finest collections of fine and decorative art is housed at the Gallery. It also plans to keep families busy over the Easter holidays. Join a member of the Education team for a fun, hands-on craft activities (3-12 April) finding inspiration from the art treasures all around them.
