A still of Tommy Calderbank from the film of his poetry reading

All good things must come to an end. Sunday 6 September  is your last chance to visit (or revisit) the L8 Unseen exhibition at the Museum of Liverpool.

Striking large-scale images taken by photographer Othello De’Souza-Hartley, sit alongside interactive displays that reveal the stories and experiences of a diverse range of people from the Liverpool 8 community.

An evolving exhibition, content has been added to it over the past few months through the L8 Create project, both on gallery and online. Look out for films and interviews at L8unseen.com, as well historical images posted on the Liverpool 8 Old Photographs Facebook group. As part of the project, last month a number of Liverpool spoken word artists filmed poems inspired by Toxteth around Liverpool 8’s iconic Granby Four Streets: Beaconsfield, Cairns, Jermyn and Ducie Street. They are now being screened in the exhibition until it closes – look out for pieces written and performed by Sandi Hughes, Tommy Calderbank, Ann Lopez and Abdul Malik Al Nasir, whose portraits also hang on gallery.

There’s still time to contribute to L8 Create if you’re inspired by the exhibition and have an anecdote about living, working or visiting Liverpool 8. Look out for the booth on gallery.
