A Liverpool-themed Memory Box available to buy from the House of Memories online shop.
We’re delighted to be able to share our new, accessible House of Memories online shop where you can purchase House of Memories activities and resources to use at home, or in your care setting.
The online shop went live with the launch of our new, dementia-friendly House of Memories website in April.
Museums are experts at recording and caring for people’s memories. Using our experience in reminiscence work, as well as access to museum objects, House of Memories’ unique and innovative training and resources support carers to creatively share memories with the people living with dementia that they are caring for.
The launch of the online shop will enable us to create a sustainable programme, as every purchase supports National Museums Liverpool to deliver House of Memories activities and resources for carers.
We’ve developed branded House of Memories resources for you to buy, enabling you to carry out memory activities at home. You can create your own memory box, buy one ready-made, or purchase a memory tree poster – a great place to collect a person’s memories.
There’s a whole range of items you can buy to fill your memory box with – some of our favourites are the memorabilia packs. Whether you’re looking for memories of the 1950s or 1960s, wartime, or even The Beatles, there’s plenty to choose from. The packs contain replica ephemera and are ideal for use as a teaching aid or reminiscence tool.
You can also purchase traditional toys, vintage advertising images, retro tea towels, all designed to help reflection and stimulate memories of past experiences.
We’re very excited to share the online shop with you, and can’t wait to see people start their own reminiscence activities with our resources.
